<Removed some old crazy stuff > . The heading was with reference to that. Now it’s just this song from the movie Rajnigandha :

kai baar yun bhi dekha hai
yeh jo man ki seema rekha hai
man todne lagta hai
anjaani pyaas ke peeche
anjaani aag ke peeche
man daudne lagta hai

raahon mein raahon mein
jeevan ki raahon mein
jo khile hain phool
phool muskuraake
kaun sa phool churake
rakh loon man mein sajake

kai baar yun bhi dekha hai
yeh jo man ki seema rekha hai
man todne lagta hai
anjaani pyaas ke peeche
anjaani aag ke peeche
man daudne lagta hai

janoo na janoo na
uljhan yeh janoon na
suljhaon kaise kuch samajh mein na paaon
kisko meet banaoon
kiski preet bhulaon

kai baar yun bhi dekha hai
yeh jo man ki seema rekha hai
man todne lagta hai
anjaani pyaas ke peeche
anjaani aag ke peeche
man daudne lagta hai

Well its been 4 months I have been in Bangalore and its still babes-galore. Settling in slowly and learnt a few local words in the local dialect. Work is also getting hectic and I am getting some responsible work and that feels good. Atlhough I generally have to work till 8pm , I am yet to get bored by the free noodles, pool and super fast net connection. Completed 4 corporate trainings and its going to take a lot to persuade me to take another. Every month I manage to get atleast 2 books from landmark after long browsing sessions and finish them inspite of the erratic work timings. My upcoming assignments are all hard core coding so things should look better in a few days. Visited Ooty/kunoor and it was ok.period. Mom sometimes scares me with her "get married" speak and new evasive plans have to be devised. Friends in PhD sometimes really make me wonder what I should do but I am postponing any decisions for a few more months. Saturday tennis sessions are a great timepass.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream that came true April 24, 2006

Yesterday it was pure serendipity as I went to a restaurant in bangalore where I would normally not go ( yes a bit on the expensive side too) since it was quite far from the place where I stay and more so when its a weekend when traffic has this amazing effect on time which is stretched amidst the congested cacophonic streets riddled with frantic people trying to make the most of the remaining Sunday before they lose touch with the worlds for 5 days
. Well I was speaking of an uncanny event since I think I saw a friend whom I had last seen 6-7 years back and that too in my hometown which is definitely not even in South india and since she also glanced at me I think I was right because I am not exactly the babe-magnet who gets the look at public places. But I am so embarrassed to admit that i could not go over and just speak to her. Maybe it was because I thought she recognised me and could have come over and spoken since I was not with a date while she was , or maybe because I was not sure………whatever the reason I just want to have the mathematical odds defined that could make such an unlikely incident take place. Hobbes has such a good explanation for some things.

Another week to reminisce and Perl February 17, 2006

This week again passed in a blur as I learn to cope with my new life , working , earning, attending meetings etc(actually nothing else, the etc is just to reassure myself that a lot more things were accomplished). I have seriously started the journey to attain mastery in Perl. The only scripting language I know a bit is javascript but somehow it does not seem to have the geekiness quotient that the word Perl evokes in you. This place is a great source of Oreilly‘s Perl resources.

The best thing amongst the stuff that i have come to know about Perl is the “non declaration of variables ” aspect. Reminds me of FORTRAN ( ofcourse you can declare but there are implicit variables). Yes I have coded in FORTRAN and learnt the ABC’s of coding with BASIC (the GW flavour). And (this brings tears to my eyes) I was forced to code in COBOL (forced as in ———-> syllabus created by knucleheads when they were salivating lechers and kept unchanged even when they became older salivating lechers——–> implication ——> students forced to struggle with 40 lines of header code to write 2 lines of code).

I am looking forward to a weekend spent reading a great book by Sir Roger Penrose, Shadows of the Mind which seeks to find a theory that seeks to delve into the amalgamation of consciousness, space, time, computational theories, maths , physics. Lip smacking stuff and the excitement is hair raising.

I shall be starting on a real project from next week. Right now in office it is docs, Winamp radio and Raaga that sustain me. I am trying to reduce my coffee intake and my incessant browsing. Also planning to get a guitar this weekend. More about music when I get the guitar.

Here I am… January 31, 2006

After brooding for 3 years and 2 unsuccessful attempts at blogging , here I am starting off again. I shall be taking regular backups of my memory since I have noticed I am getting consistently forgetful these days and it would be very depressing to let go of my life’s incidental happenings and happening incidents .
